Who's tracks are these...

Hey all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! This is my first blog. Thank you for joining me on my adventure, I hope the shoes fit.

So let me begin by explaining this whole “shoe” thing. I have shoes. You have shoes. We all have shoes! I am sure you had already figured that out, but what you may not know is that soon my shoes will be embarking upon a grand adventure. Thus this is an easy way for you to follow my shoes and I on our expedition.

Now before I go any further I must explain. These are no ordinary pair of shoes. They are Toe-ed shoes. Pronounced [‘tō-ĭd], meaning they have toes! Don’t let this freak you out too much now, they are only shoes. Kind of like toe-ed socks. If you would like a better idea of what we are dealing with, look up Vibram Five Fingers.

Let me also reassure you that this is not just a blog about my shoes. Instead I look forward to using these shoes to guide the stories of my adventures and leave a trail for you to follow.

So what adventure is it that I am soon embarking upon you say? A study abroad in the tropical country of Costa Rica. No this is not Puerto Rico or part of South America. Costa Rica is a small country in Central America with a coast on the Pacific and the Gulf side. I will be studying in a small, although highly toured town called Monteverde, on the Pacific side of the central mountain range. Some might even say it is high in the clouds. Thus it makes sense that I will be attending classes at a privately owned field research station, on the edge of the largest privately owned tropical rainforest (cloud forest) in Costa Rica. Now don't get too jealous of me quite yet. I will be taking 17 credit hours of classes while there and the professors even say that I should be ready for class on Saturdays.

That should be about all for now. Once again I appreciate your interest in joining me on this adventure. Please feel free to share this blog with others and take the liberty to add comments. I promise to fill you in as often as possible.

As a side note, “Pay it Forward” is a very good movie, and may be on my top 5 list, just in case any of you were looking for a recommendation.

I hope you continue to follow my footprints.

Peace Be With You my Friends and Family!

Cody

  1. Looking forward to following your adventures, Cody!! :-)

And yes, Pay it Forward is an AWESOME movie. I actually had someone pay it forward to me once, and that's how I learned about the film. Cool stuff. Anyway, safe travels... don't get hit by any crazy Costa Rican drivers, ok?? :)
